Well we pulled it off again! The 16th Annual Green Race is over and done. Isaac took the glass and everyone else did not. Time to get ready for 2012!

It’s Green Week the most wonderful time of the year!

Schedule of how the week is going to go down.

Green River Release from 7am-1pm on Wednesday and 7am-12pm on Thursday. Get your practice runs in!

LVM 37 “nine five plus four pennies” premieres at 9″30 PM Asheville Pizza Company. It is going to go off, so be sure to get there early and get your ticket. This show will sell out. Calcutta, which doesn’t exist, to follow at an unnamed location.

Saturday, get your shuttle ran and be at the put-in by 10am for bib pickup. Racer meeting is at 11AM where Jason Hale will line everyone up for a photo and possibly introduce some new rules to the Green Race this year. Starting at high noon Isaac Levinson will kick off the 16th annual Green Race.

Remember local law enforcement will be out in force, consider yourself warned. Be on your best behavior.

The Awards Party will kick off at 5:30PM in Wilderness Cove Campground. There is a $10 entrance fee that gets you food until it runs out, beer until it runs out, camping, and entertainment for the night. If possible please carpool from fish stop. Some parking is available but it will run out.

16th Annual Green Race

Racer Information:

If you haven’t registered do so for free online at boatingbeta.com. If you forget and have to register on race day there is a $100 late fee and you have to wear a clown nose during your run.

Get your shuttle ran early and be at the Green River Access Fund put in parking lot at 9-10AM to pick up your race bibs and see your starting order. Racer meeting is at 11 AM, followed by the greatest show in all of sports first racer starting at high noon.

Race with your throw rope and carry it while watching your fellow racers.

Awards party starting at 5:30PM. Food until is runs out, beer until it runs out, music, D.J., camping, race day footage, and Jason Hale awards show. $10 admission. Bring your camping supplies and enjoy a night in the gorge!

Spectators Information:

Be respectful of no parking areas on Big Hungry Road. There is often good parking available just past the trail head. The hike in is steep and slippery. Wear good shoes and bring an extra jacket. It gets cold down in the gorge. Follow this GPS location for SPECTATOR PARKING.
